Lana was on a roll tonight, and she gave us two more good ones during scripture-time. We were reading from Mormon chapter 9, and Lana's verse was verse five. The first part reads as follows:
"For behold, when ye shall be brought."Lana repeated back that line to me: "For behold, he willll be shot!" I was vaguely reminded of my primary lesson this morning on Apostasy ...
We corrected her harmless error, and moved on:
"to see your nakedness ...."Upon hearing this clause, Lana gave me one of her more mortified looks and said, alarmingly offended ... "NO!!!!" At that same moment Lana brought her hand up to the top of her pj's, and refused to say the line until she received what she deemed to be a proper explanation as to why anyone would want to see her naked in the first place. We then explained, in words a three-year-old could understand, that the term "nakedness" is used purely in a metaphorical, and not an anatomical, sense ... as the gears turned in her head, she took our explanation without further need for an explanation of our explanation, and blurted out, at a speed it would be difficult for a court reporter to type down something that sounded like "toseeyurnakeness."
On a side note, Emma read parts of a verse for the very first time tonight. All around, it was quite the eventful evening.
